Admissible speeds of transition fronts for nonautonomous monostable equations

چکیده
We consider a reaction-diffusion equation with a nonlinear term of the Fisher-KPP type, depending on time t and admitting two limits as t → ±∞. We derive the set of admissible asymptotic past and future speeds of transition fronts for such equation. We further show that any transition front which is non-critical as t → −∞ always admits two asymptotic past and future speeds. We finally describe the asymptotic profiles of the non-critical fronts as t → ±∞.

Uniqueness of monostable pulsating wave fronts for time periodic reaction-diffusion equations
Keywords: Reaction–diffusion equations Pulsating wave fronts KPP and monostable nonlinearities Uniqueness a b s t r a c t We establish the uniqueness of pulsating wave fronts for reaction–diffusion equations in time periodic media with monostable nonlinearities. For the Kolmogorov–Petrovsky– Piskunov (KPP) type nonlinearity, this result provides a complete classification of all types of KPP pul...
متن کاملInside dynamics of pulled and pushed fronts
We investigate the inside structure of one-dimensional reaction-diffusion traveling fronts. The reaction terms are of the monostable, bistable or ignition types. Assuming that the fronts are made of several components with identical diffusion and growth rates, we analyze the spreading properties of each component. In the monostable case, the fronts are classified as pulled or pushed ones, depen...
متن کاملExistence and Non-existence of Transition Fronts for Bistable and Ignition Reactions
We study reaction-diffusion equations in one spatial dimension and with general (spaceor time-) inhomogeneous mixed bistable-ignition reactions. For those satisfying a simple quantitative hypothesis, we prove existence and uniqueness of transition fronts, as well as convergence of “typical” solutions to the unique transition front (the existence part even extends to mixed bistable-ignition-mono...
متن کاملTransition fronts and stretching phenomena for a general class of reaction-dispersion equations
We consider a general form of reaction-dispersion equations with non-local dispersal and local reaction. Under some general conditions, we prove the non-existence of transition fronts, as well as some stretching properties at large time for the solutions of the Cauchy problem. These conditions are satisfied in particular when the reaction is monostable and when the dispersal operator is either ...
متن کاملUniqueness and stability properties of monostable pulsating fronts
In this paper, we prove the uniqueness, up to shifts, of pulsating traveling fronts for reaction-diffusion equations in periodic media with Kolmogorov-Petrovsky-Piskunov type nonlinearities. These results provide in particular a complete classification of all KPP pulsating fronts. Furthermore, in the more general case of monostable nonlinearities, we also derive several global stability propert...
